Gender and Race in 1980's

This is an example of the representation of teen women in the 1980's. This is the story of a women feeling that she is not being taken seriously but all men in her high school environment and feeling that the only way to show them that she is as good or even better than them then she must become one in a sense, she must pretend to one of the guys to win them over, to gain there respect, and no longer just being judge on her body and her femine ways. This is an example of how women were still seen as being less than women and sexual objects for the male gaze, and what women felt they had to go through to become seen anywhere near equal. But this maybe not have been the same for all women in american during the 1980's but it was what Hollywood stereotyped the youth of american in the high school environment.

This is a similar example but this time is an example of a male in the 90's trying to be excepted into a new high school environment and try's the angle of pretending to be a girl to stop the bullies and to get the attention of the girl he is interested in. But in the end it turns out to be a very eye opening experience to show him the other side of the scale in a sense the female perfective on life ant the battles and difficulties that women in the 90's were experiencing and still trying to over come.
